August 6 “Non-Shrinkable Material” Facing all kinds of dangers and challenges, Paul was an excellent example of one who did not shrink from declaring the message of Christ. Even if it meant giving up his life, Paul was determined to fulfill the ministry given him. Are we made of the same non-shrinkable material Paul was?

July 30  “No Small Disturbance”  The signs and power displayed in the growth of the early church sparked no small disturbances among the peoples.  Efforts to stifle the growing church were rampant.  Are we, the church of today, afraid of disturbing others as we live out the Christian faith?

July 23  “Permission to Be a Troublemaker”  We’re taught to not cause any trouble in this life.  When we rebel against this way of thinking we often become troublemakers bent on destruction of ourselves or others.  But what does it look like to become a troublemaker for God, for good in this world?

July 16  “Where Do You Draw the Line?”  There is much heated debate over controversial issues today in the Christian church and in politics.  It was no different in the early church.  How do we decide what is acceptable change in Christian practice and what are foundational truths we must hold on to?

July 9  “Getting It Right” Pastor Kirk Peterson
The apostles faced serious challenges with those who had radically different beliefs, and those who rejected and misunderstood the Christian faith.  We face the same challenges even today.  Do we have it right in our beliefs and living out the Christian life, and are we able to give firm witness to the Truth?

July 2  “In Every Nation”  Pastor Kirk Peterson
We tend to have a very limited world view, not thinking much about people in other nations and their relationship with God.  In Acts it is clear that people from every nation can receive salvation through their acceptance of Christ.  Can we look beyond the borders of our own little world and reach out to others who are different from us?

June 25 “Who Are You, Lord?”
During his dramatic encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus, Saul (Paul) asked, “Who are you, Lord?”  We may have our experiences of asking the same question.Do we know Jesus?  Even when we profess to know him, do our actions prove we know who Jesus is?

June 18 “Are We Doing Just as Our Fathers Did?” (Father’s Day)
Stephen gave quite a stirring sermon that summarized much of Israel’s history.  He ended his sermon by confronting his listeners about their resistance to the Holy Spirit, saying they were doing just as their fathers did.  Thinking about Stephen’s audience, what kind of example are we following and setting?  Are we living with evidence of the Spirit in us or of resisting the Spirit in our life?
