Operation Christmas Child:
"The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ." - Samaritan's Purse
On November 20th we joined the TUMY Youth in filling boxes for Operation Christmas Child. We think it is very important to teach our children about missions in our church, in our community, and in our world. Our JAM kids enjoy this project each year.

Visiting Shut Ins:
Every other month we try to visit some church members that have a hard time getting out to church. We have found that the friendships formed are very special. It is meaningful for the person we are visiting and for the Jam children as well. Many of the shut-ins look forward to the children coming and you can see their excitement when we arrive. We share news from church, learn about the shut-in and share about ourselves. We are learning good conversational skills as well as giving of ourselves.

Happy New Year to you all. We are off to a great start for 2012, and we wanted to say how very proud we are of all of our kids for their service to others since our JAM year began in Sept. We have made “Remember 9-11” ribbons for all 3 church services, made crafts for our shut-ins and had 2 shut-in visit dates, participated in Trunk or Treat, shopped for Operation Christmas Child, made luminaries for our Christmas Eve Services (and some even helped set them out), shopped for our 2 children from the Giving Tree and purchased items for the MMM Pantry. We even have a “Love Your Pet” event planned for our church during February to collect supplies for the local animal shelter.
